“Most skin problems are not mysterious. They are just rarely given enough time in the room. We book longer appointments for that reason.”

Questions

Before you
come in

Anything not covered here, call the front desk. We would rather answer it now than in the room.

01 Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly with us. Some insurance plans require a referral for reimbursement, so it is worth a call to your insurer first.
02 How long is the wait for an appointment?
Routine appointments are usually within two to three weeks. If you have a changing or bleeding lesion, tell the front desk — we hold same-week slots for those.
03 What happens at a full skin check?
You change into a gown and Dr. Vance examines your skin from scalp to soles with a dermatoscope. It takes about twenty minutes. Anything suspicious is photographed, measured, and either monitored or biopsied that day.
04 Which insurance do you accept?
Most major plans, including BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, Aetna, Cigna and Medicare. Cosmetic procedures are not covered by insurance and are quoted in writing at consultation.
05 Is there parking?
Yes — six reserved spaces behind the building off Logan Street, and the Queen Street garage is a three-minute walk.
06 Do you treat children?
We do, from infancy up. Paediatric appointments are booked in the longer morning slots so nobody feels rushed.
