Long-tenured staff pushed out in a restructure, or owed months of overtime nobody recorded.
We act for people and small businesses in BC who have a dispute they didn't ask for. Before you commit to a case, we tell you what it will cost, how long it usually takes, and what a realistic outcome looks like.
If your matter sits outside these four, we'll say so on the first call and point you to someone who does it.
Wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, unpaid overtime and severance negotiations — for employees and for the employer across the table.
Unpaid invoices, broken supply agreements, shareholder fallouts and the demand letter that stops it getting worse.
Contested wills, dependant claims, executor disagreements and the estate accounting nobody can get.
Builders liens, holdback claims and payment disputes on residential and commercial projects.
Most of our clients are here once. We price and explain the work with that in mind.

A customer who won't pay, a partner who wants out, a contract that was never signed.
An estate that should be straightforward and isn't, with family on both sides of it.
“They told me the other side's offer was fair before I'd paid them a dollar. That's not how I expected a lawyer to behave, and it's why I hired them.”

We give you a written estimate after the first meeting, and we tell you when the estimate changes.
Thirty minutes, no charge. You explain the situation, we tell you whether you have a case and what the options are.
The claim, the likely defence, the steps, the timeline and the fee structure — hourly, flat or contingency.
One partner runs the file and answers your email. You get copies of everything that goes out.
Employment and commercial matters are usually a flat fee per stage. Litigation is hourly with a written budget, or contingency for some claims. Estates work is hourly. Nothing starts without a signed retainer that states the amount.
A severance negotiation is often two to six weeks. A commercial claim that goes to trial in BC Supreme Court can take two to three years. We'll give you the realistic range, not the best case.
Most files settle before a trial date. If yours is likely to need one, we tell you at the consultation rather than nine months in.
Yes, and it happens more than people admit. We'll review the file, tell you what's salvageable, and deal with the former firm's transfer request.
Thirty minutes with a partner, no charge, and a straight answer about whether you need a lawyer at all.
